My synopsis of the events:
Mississippi River - Pool 2
This should be an interesting early season event. Only a few guys in our club have been on this water and not necessarily at this time of year. We chose this because its catch & release all year and we will be doing paper tournament, where your partner will verify the length of your catch and convert to pounds. It offers both smallmouth & largemouth. We usually drive to WI in May for our first tourneys, so this will be a new body of water for most and save expenses this year.
North & South Center Lakes / Chisago & Lindstrom Lakes Chain
June can be a very good bite or finicky bite on these lakes based on what stage of Post Spawn we are likely in at this point. Should be a mixture of deep fish and fish that are still raiding bluegill beds on these lakes. Should take some solid weights on both, Chisago will also be a paper tournament
Knife Lake / East & West Rush Lakes
Knife Lake I know nothing about and I think only one or two members have been on the lake, I am guessing it will fish strong. Rush lakes maybe hitting their full algae bloom at this time, which may trip up a few anglers on this body of water, but it has big fish if you can find them in the summer.
The TOC waters will likely be one of the large chains of water like Gull or Whitefish, but we will not know until April. That is all for now, watch my website for my official tournament schedule very soon!

Looks like Minnetonka is the only TOC nomination for 2010, so our August club tournaments are likely to be on Minnetonka!

I have fished 4 tournaments on Knife and fished on the lake about a dozen times. Knife can pump out some respectable weights and big fish. It has tanic water and gets a heavy algae bloom so the lake is usually pretty murky. It is a shallow lake with a maximum depth of about 18 feet. The lake has a small population of Smallmouth bass. On the South end of the lake their is a bridge that funnels into a bay that is like a/is a river with lots of slop. There is also slop where the Knife River runs into the lake and in at least a couple other shallow bays. I have heard rumors that the lake holds a few rockpiles which can be good.
Pitching jigs or plastics to docks and other shallow cover is a strong pattern on Knife. Slop fishing can produce some nice fish as well. If you need somebody to prefish with, keep me in mind as the lake isn't that far away from where I live.

Thanks for the info, what kind of weight usually won the tournaments that you fished?
I will keep you in mind if I get out and practice this lake
